Bloggers shine a light into the corridors of power during UN Arms Trade Treaty negotiations

Bloggers and campaigners shone a light into the murky world of United Nations discussions on the Arms Trade Treaty last month. These sessions are usually fairly staid with diplomats and NGOs engaging in intense discussions about detailed wording and the placement of commas in resolutions. This year we shook things up by inviting bloggers from around the world into the UN to engage with the process.

Use your blog to bring urgent change to Congo

A counterproductive strategy in Congo is costing more lives than it is saving. We need bloggers to help explain this complex situation to a public that would act, if they knew what was happening.

For every rebel combatant disarmed:

  • 1 Congolese civilian has been killed
  • 7 women and girls raped
  • 6 houses burned and destroyed
  • 1,000 people forced to flee their homes.

Climate campaigners work with bloggers to document actions in Barcelona, aliens land (VIDEO)

A partnership of several NGOs and bloggers is helping provide coverage and context for climate actions. Climate campaigners were out in force in Barcelona this week. Ben Margolis from Tck Tck Tck explains exactly what they are doing and why it matters — something many NGOs don’t do enough.
