No need for a TV to follow today’s marathon health care summit as video sites across the web featured Obama’s conversation with Republicans and Democrats. From the White House Live, to YouTube, to Ustream and LiveStream, each site offered their own tools for viewer participation.

As Haiti erupts in chaos, digital tools are vital for sharing information, guiding relief efforts, and offering avenues to help. I have been, and will continue to be in touch with relief workers and journalists on the ground and en route to Haiti. I’ll keep updates going here with a focus on digital media links that provide updates. A liveblog is included in the post. Please share any useful links in the comments.

Campaign directors from TckTckTck, 350.org, and Avaaz are hitting the LiveStream momentarily to talk about distributed campaign models. They will look at the success of climate actions this year, like this weekend’s The World Wants a Real Deal mobilization. It was great to hear today that Livestream are integrating a Plymedia tool that will allow live captioning of their streams, as well as automatic translation and integration into twitter.

A 23-year-old first time mother whose pregnancy had been tracked by fellow members of the social networking site Momslikeme.com gave birth in an event that was shown live online early Saturday morning through LiveStream.com.
