Obama Will Attend Copenhagen Climate Conference

Obama attending Copenhagen is a strong signal of his administration’s commitment to the issue. However, the floated 17% reduction below 2005 levels by 2020 is well under the 25%-40% reduction below 1990 levels the International Panel on Climate Change is recommending for developed countries and on the low end of proposed carbon emissions reduction goals from other countries (16%-23%). From one of the world’s top emitters, this is a soberly realistic goal rather than a hopeful or ambitious one.

Al Gore: Instead of science, I’m going with crazy (VIDEO)

Al Gore stopped by Saturday Night Live to unveil his new climate campaigning strategy: Go Crazy. The Vice President decided that if science doesn’t work than he may need to “out crazy the crazies.” He may be on the right track.

Cookie Monster teaches Ella Morton the right way to eat a cookie

I blogged about the special Sesame Street Google Doodles and Cookie Monster Google song last week. Well, someone at YouTube must love Sesame Street, because I just noticed Rocketboom’s Ella Morton on the YouTube homepage interviewing Cookie Monster. Ella was one of the online journalist/bloggers that joined us as part of the Climate Voice project in September. You can see her piece from Climate Week here.
