Oxfam Australia, has taken a quintessentially Australian approach to their climate campaign, humour. By cutting up previous speeches made by the Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, they have developed a tool that enables you to make your own version of his climate change speech and then share it amongst your friends.

At 4pm EST today, over 200 young climate leaders from all over the country are meeting at the White House with top administration officials including Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and Carol Browner. The event will be streamed live at http://whitehouse.gov/live and you can follow on twitter using the hashtag #YCEF. Facebook users can take part in live chat on the White House’s Facebook Live page.

The video will be the first in a series that will seek to go beyond The Story of Stuff to examine specific topics like e-waste, bottled water, and carbon trading. The great media campaign has begun in Copenhagen. Oceana advertisements greet delegates and campaigners as they land at CPH. Oceana’s advertising campaign centers on reducing CO2 emissions to achieve atmospheric levels of 350 parts per million (ppm) or less as soon as possible. The three ads by Oceana are placed at the airport, mass transit and along the major highway leading to the Bella Centre. Can the NGO’s keep up with the big corporations?
