Haagen-Dazs uses twitter to fundraise for honey bee research

9 November 2009 Comments

honey bees at workHaagen-Dazs has come up with a new way of promoting research on the widespread loss of honey bees. For every tweet with the hashtag #helphoneybees Haagen-Dazs will donate $1 to US Davis for research into Colony Collapse Disorder.

Initiatives like this alone won’t make a movement but it is a unique idea on how to motivate people to make a tangible difference. The stunt is also an easy way to quantify how well the movement is doing.
